Product description

GWtec® Greywater Recycling System by DEHOUST is an innovative solution designed to address the pressing issue of water scarcity and sustainability by efficiently recycling greywater. Greywater, generated from showers, baths, washbasins, and washing machines, is typically wasted and discharged into sewage systems. However, with the GWtec® system, this wastewater is transformed into hygienically safe process water through a combination of mechanical-biological filtration and ultrafiltration technologies.

The system begins by passing the greywater through coarse filters to remove large debris such as hair and lint. Subsequently, the water undergoes aerobic biological processes where contaminants are degraded by wastewater bacteria. Finally, ultrafiltration with a pore width of 38 nm ensures that the treated water is clear, odorless, and free from suspended solids and pathogens, meeting the stringent European standard EN 16941‑2.

Designed for a wide range of applications, from single-family homes to large commercial complexes, the GWtec® system provides a reliable source of service water for various non-potable uses such as toilet flushing, washing machines, irrigation, and floor cleaning. Its integrated dual-pump design and monitoring interface, DehoustConnect, ensure efficient and controlled distribution of the recycled water.

With over two decades of development and experience, DEHOUST has established itself as a leader in the greywater treatment market, offering one of the most efficient solutions available. By implementing the GWtec® system, users can significantly reduce their reliance on potable water, alleviate pressure on wastewater systems, and contribute to sustainable water management practices in both residential and commercial settings.

About the Company

DEHOUST GmbH, founded in 1958 by Herbert and Ilse Dehoust near Heidelberg, is a German engineering firm specializing in tank and plant construction. With over 60 years of expertise, the company manufactures plastic (HD-PE) and steel tanks used for safe storage of heating oil, process water, rainwater, greywater, and drinking water separation systems. DEHOUST’s product range includes large-capacity buffer tanks for hot and cold water, capped at 150 m³, along with modular double-walled oil tanks. Sustainability is at the heart of their operations: the firm aligns with multiple UN Sustainable Development Goals by promoting greywater recycling, rainwater harvesting, and energy-efficient thermal storage solutions. On-site photovoltaic systems, heat pumps, and greywater treatment plants further reduce their environmental impact. Through innovation and sustainable processes, DEHOUST supports the transition to a circular economy while offering eco-conscious solutions to municipalities, industries, and private households.
